Ornaments can be brought to the bakery between 14-30 days before your wedding or event. Topping cake with ornaments that are too heavy or not secured properly may cause damage to your cake. PICKING UP YOUR CAKE:

Picking up your cake is a great way to save money. If you choose to pick up your cake you should make sure that you have a clean, flat surface to set cake on while driving. If you are in a car, the floor is generally safer than the seat. Most of our cakes are either too large or irregularly shaped to fit in a cake box so you need to take special care to protect them. Once you leave with the cake it is no longer the responsibility of The Bread Basket Bakery.

Your Questions, Answered

What is the purpose of the Cake Contract form?

The Cake Contract form serves to outline the terms and conditions for ordering a cake from The Bread Basket Bakery. It includes important details such as the event date, payment structure, and cancellation policies. This contract ensures that both the bakery and the client have a clear understanding of their obligations and expectations regarding the cake order.

What are the payment requirements outlined in the Cake Contract?

To secure a cake order, a $75.00 deposit is required. This deposit is non-refundable in the event of cancellation. Additionally, a 50% down payment is due two months prior to the event date. If the contract is signed within two months of the event, the 50% down payment must be made at the time of signing. Finally, the total contract price must be paid two weeks before the event. If the final payment is not received, the cake will not be made.

Can I make changes to my cake order after signing the contract?

Changes to the cake's size, description, flavors, or other details can be made until two weeks prior to the event date. After this lockout period, no changes will be accepted. It is important to note that any modifications may affect the final price of the cake, so clients should consider this when making adjustments.

What is the policy regarding delivery and setup of the cake?

The delivery and setup fee for wedding or large specialty cakes within a five-mile radius of the bakery is $30. For deliveries outside this radius, there is an additional charge of $1.25 per mile. Cakes for events during peak times must serve at least 100 people to qualify for delivery; smaller cakes must be picked up. Clients should be prepared to pay the delivery fee in cash or by credit card at least 14 days prior to the delivery date.

What happens if I need to cancel my cake order?

Cancellations made prior to the 14-day lockout date will result in a refund of the total amount paid, excluding the non-refundable $75 deposit. If the cancellation occurs after the 14-day lockout date, no refunds will be issued, and the deposit will also be forfeited. Clients are encouraged to contact the bakery to discuss options if unexpected circumstances affect their scheduled event.

How should I handle the pickup of my cake?

Clients choosing to pick up their cake should ensure they have a clean, flat surface for transportation. Vehicles such as vans or SUVs are recommended for safe travel. Since many cakes are too large or irregularly shaped for standard cake boxes, special care must be taken to protect them during transit. Once the cake leaves the bakery, The Bread Basket Bakery is no longer responsible for any damage that may occur.
